Delegation from Belgrade University visited Sibstrin

On June 16, 2017, Head of the UNESCO Chair for Water Management of Belgrade University and Member of the Serbian National Commission for UNESCO Chair, Serbian National Committee for UNESCO IHP, Professor of Hydrology and Hydraulic Engineering Department Jovan Despotovich and Member of the UNESCO Water Management Team of Serbia, Professor of the Hydrology and Hydraulics Department of Belgrade University Marco Ivetich arrived at NSUACE (Sibstrin) The visit took place in connection with the International Conference under the auspices of UNESCO "Ecologically safe technologies of environmental management and water use: theory and practice".

The program of the visit included acquaintance with our University (Sibstrin) and discussion of possible ways of cooperation in various fields, such as participation in joint research projects and programs of academic mobility in the framework of the UNESCO Chairs activities. The Serbian delegation had meetings with the rector of NSUACE (Sibstrin), the head of the international UNESCO Chair Yuri L. Skolubovich, the dean of the Faculty of and Ecological Engineering Natalia V. Sineeva and the director of the International Affairs Center Alexandr A. Shevchenko. The foreign scientists also had a meeting with the members of the UNESCO Chair at NSUACE (Sibstrin) and with the head of the Chair of Water Supply and Sewerage Irina A. Kosolapova. They also visited the Novosibirsk water treatment plant.

 “We have high hopes for cooperation with the UNESCO Chair at NSUACE (Sibstrin), because it consolidates the scientific potential in such a large region as Siberia. The Chair may become the basis for creation of a UNESCO committee, which is very important for your region and solution of its water problems”, Professor Jovan Despotovich said.

Serbian guests also addressed Sibstrin undergraduates with the presentation about history, education and research of Belgrade University and a lecture on peculiarities of use and protection of water resources in Serbia. Professor Ivetich also delivered a speech to the members of the Novosibirsk regional branch of the educational and methodological association of Russian universities on education in the field of construction. It was devoted to Belgrade University, the largest educational institution of Serbia, and the UNESCO Chair in Water 4 ESD.

The guests of Sibstrin had a cultural program, which gave them the opportunity to get acquainted with our city.
